Hi I am Nora, a therapist with over a decade of experience serving teens to mature adults. I help people pick up the pieces after something terrible has happened in their life. My specialty is trauma and things adjacent to trauma like grief, anxiety and depression. The most common transitions I help clients work through include; break up/divorce, medical issues, civilian life, parenthood, retirement, family changes, loss of loved one, career changes, abuse, or past traumas.
I am a seasoned clinician and have worked in several outpatient and residential settings with diverse client populations, with a particular interest in geriatric, special needs and LGBTQ+ communities. I attended Earlham College and the University of Pennsylvania, where I earned a Masters in Social Work in 1993. Often, I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative and humanistic therapy in my work with clients. I believe in the ability of each individual to grow and make lasting changes.
I have a long background in working with people who have interacted with the criminal justice system. This has given me first hand experience in witnessing how trauma, anger, depression, and anxiety negatively impacts not just the individual but also their families and partners. It has also given me the opportunity to educate people on themselves and seeing the gratifying process of change that happens as a result.
I’m a licensed clinical social worker with nearly two decades of experience helping individuals and couples work through anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I specialize in perinatal mental health and work with many individuals in the transition to parenthood who are navigating anxiety, depression, grief, infertility, and stress. I also have extensive experience working with teens and young adults managing stress, depression, and periods of transition.
I’m a warm, solution-focused, and person-centered therapist who values direct and authentic communication. My approach is grounded in respect and collaboration, working with clients to navigate challenges and build meaningful change. I specialize in supporting individuals experiencing psychosis, OCD, and autism, and also have expertise in ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, BPD, and suicidal ideation. I work with clients across a range of concerns, including grief, relationship struggles, men’s and women’s issues, and PTSD. My goal is to create a supportive space where you feel seen, understood, and empowered to grow.
I am a warm, kind, non-judgmental listener that has been through a lot of adversity in my life. Due to the hard times I have struggled to overcome I work hard to show both understanding and compassion.
